About the Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association (“HKRSA”)

The HKRSA was established in 1996 and is a not-for-profit, non-political association. Our mission is to promote sustainable and better retirement outcomes and get more value out from the retirement system through the following:

• Empower – We empower employees through employers with retirement planning and tools
• Advocate – We advocate key retirement issues, retirement income and look for value creation
• Share – We share and facilitate retirement information and knowledge.

HKRSA’s Cross Straits Pension Forum

The Cross Straits Pension Form (“Forum”) is an event jointly hosted by the retirement associations of the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan to exchange views and share best practices on pensions and retirement savings issues across the region.

• China Social Insurance Association (“CSIA”)
• Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association (“HKRSA”)
• Macau Social Security Society (“MSSS”)
• Pension Fund Association (Taiwan R.O.C.) (“PFA”)

Convened by the HKRSA, the first Forum was held in 2009 to provide a platform for experience and knowledge sharing on retirement protection. The associations share a common goal to facilitate dialogues on the latest development of the pension systems in the four regions, as well as to help participants to influence and shape retirement protection policy and development in their own remit.

The four associations take turns in holding this annual event. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Forum and it will be hosted by the HKRSA in Hong Kong.

InnoPension革新．養老

It is the combination of “Innovation” and “Pension” that forms the theme for the Cross Straits Pension Forum in 2018. With this theme, it is our aim to find ways to help cater for the needs of retirees through innovation on the following fronts:

1. Structure Innovation （結構創新）
2. Product Innovation （產品創新）
3. New Concepts （新思維）
4. Technology Innovation（科技創新）

Each year, a joint research paper is produced by the research teams of the four regions and each region contributes their own part of the research which they deem as the topic of focus in their remit. We aim to leverage on the research from the Forum to create the momentum for discussion towards building a well-rounded retirement system in Hong Kong.
