Martin Wheatley
Chief Executive Officer

Mr Wheatley became the executive Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) on 1 October 2005 and was appointed by the HKSAR Chief Executive as the SFC's first Chief Executive Officer on 23 June 2006.

Prior to joining the SFC, Mr Wheatley was Deputy Chief Executive of the London Stock Exchange.

Mr Wheatley was also Chairman of the FTSE International and sat on the Listing Authority Advisory Committee of the Financial Services Authority of England.

Mr Wheatley qualified as an accountant in 1984, has a first degree in Philosophy and an MBA.

Miss Au has been appointed as Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Financial Services) of the Financial Service and the Treasury Bureau since January 2009. Her responsibility is to maintain and enhance Hong Kong's status as a major international financial centre, and facilitate and co-ordinate initiatives to upgrade overall market quality and to ensure that Hong Kong's regulatory regime meets the needs of modern commerce.

Miss Au joined the Hong Kong Government as an Administrative Officer in 1982. She joined the Monetary Affairs Branch in 1988 and formulated policies for the regulatory reform of the securities and futures markets after the 1987 stock market crash. In 1999 she joined the Financial Services Bureau as a Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and was in charge of modernizing the regulatory regime for the securities and futures market in Hong Kong. She oversaw the enactment of the Securities and Futures Ordinance in 2002 and its commencement in 2003. She was responsible for policy and legislation on securities, futures, banking and other financial services matters. These included improving the financial market infrastructure, facilitating financial market development, and facilitation and co-ordination of initiatives in upgrading the quality of the securities market.

Miss Au was educated in Hong Kong, the UK and the US. She obtained a B.Soc.Sc(Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong, and a Master degree in Public Administration from the Harvard University.

Peter Wong

Peter Wong Tung Shun has been Group General Manager and Executive Director, Hong Kong and Mainland China of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited since April 2005. In April 2007, he was appointed Deputy Chairman and Non-executive Director of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited. He is also Chairman and Non-executive Director of HSBC's five rural banks in the Mainland.

Based in Hong Kong, Mr Wong is also a director of Hang Seng Bank Limited, Bank of Communications Co Ltd, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China Ltd and Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited. Mr Wong is also Chairman and a director of both HSBC Insurance (Asia) Ltd and HSBC Life (International) Ltd.

He is also Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Banks, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, a Member of the Banking Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; a Council Member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and a member of the General Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council, Chairman of the Banking Industry Training Advisory Committee of the Government of the HKSAR.

He is also a member of the 10th Hubei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Katherine Cheung

Katherine Cheung is the Managing Director for BlackRock in Asia.

Cheung joined BlackRock (previously known as Merrill Lynch Investment Managers) in January 1999. She is responsible for developing the overall marketing strategies for BlackRock in Asia and to establish BlackRock as the premier provider of investment solutions as well as a household brand in the region. She was head of BlackRock Hong Kong Retail Business from 2004-2009. She is a member of the firm's AMG Leadership Council.

Cheung holds a B.A. degree (in Economics and Psychology) from University of British Columbia, in Canada. She sits in the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association (HKIFA), and currently plays the role of Vice Chairman of its Unit Trust Subcommittee. Cheung serves as an alternate member of the Investor Education Advisory Committee (formed by Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission) for 2009 - 2010. In addition, Cheung is an honorary chairman of the Hong Kong Youth Association (Wanchai chapter), a founding member of the Hong Kong-Thailand Business Council, and a director at the Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce Association.

Christina Choi

Ms Christina Choi is the Director of the Investment Products Department of the Hong Kong SFC. The Department is responsible for the authorization and on-going regulation of collective investment schemes (unit trusts, mutual funds, REITs, hedge funds, exchange traded funds, etc.) that are offered to the Hong Kong public.

Ms Choi is a member of the SFC Committee on Unit Trusts and Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts. She is also one of the SFC senior representatives sitting on the CSRC QDII product experts committee.

Before joining the SFC, Ms Choi was a Partner of the Corporate Group of the international law firm Clifford Chance.

Cindy Fu

Cindy Fu is currently General Manager of Wealth Management, Consumer Banking, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited.

Ms Fu joined the Bank in 2006 as Head of Investment when she was dedicated to the driving of investment and treasury business which includes FX, Unit Trust, Fixed Income, Structured Products, Securities and MPF. Throughout the past few years, her scope was further expanded to include also the management of the investment counsellor teams, insurance as well as deposit business. She has also been sharing the Bank's investment strategies through public media like newspapers, radio and TV. Before joining Standard Chartered, Ms Fu had over 18 years of business management and banking experience with some renowned international banks and financial institutions.

Ms Fu holds a degree in Psychology and is married with two children.

Andrew Fung is General Manager and Head of Treasury and Investment of Hang Seng Bank. He oversees the Bank's asset management and securities services subsidiary companies as well as business for global markets, fund and structured product development and investment advisory at the Bank.

His present public appointments include Member of Process Review Panel for the Securities and Futures Commission, Part-time Member of the Central Policy Unit, The Government of HKSAR, Member of the Council of Lingnan University, General Committee Member of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council Financial Services Advisory Committee. He is an Election Committee Member (Insurance Sub-sector) for 2007 Chief Executive Election.

Susan is a partner of Deacons Financial Services Practice Group and has been based in Hong Kong for the last fifteen years. Prior to coming to Hong Kong, she was with the funds practice of a London law firm. Susan has extensive experience in all aspects of funds, fund management and regulatory matters. She specialises in the establishment of funds and fund management companies, authorisation of funds for public sale, establishment of MPF schemes and underlying pension pooled products and advising retail and institutional fund managers on distribution and compliance-related matters.

She is a graduate of the University of Glasgow, Scotland and of Tulane University, USA, is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Wales and Scotland and is admitted to the State of New York Bar.

Ms Ivy Lai graduated with honours in Economics and Management Studies from the University of Hong Kong. She is elected Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, England and an accredited Certified Investment Manager by the Canadian Securities Institute.

Ms Lai was a practitioner in various financial sectors in Canada and Hong Kong before joining the Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong in 1996 to set up and head its Investor Education & Communications Department responsible for conducting investor surveys, launching investor education and alert programmes and handling investor enquiries and complaints. She is now Director of the SFC's External Relations Department which also covers the SFC's investor education work.

Bonnie Lam

Bonnie Lam is responsible for developing the wholesale business as well as implementing the sales and marketing strategies of retail fund distribution.

Ms Lam joined HSBC Global Asset Management in 1999 as Associate Director, Retail Business, and was later promoted to Director, Head of Wholesale Business, Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining HSBC, Ms Lam was Vice President of Investment Services at Citibank for the period 1993-1999. She oversaw the retail investment business and was responsible for the formulation and execution of business strategies. She started her career at Gartmore Fund Management Limited.

Ms Lam participates in the industry actively. She is currently an Executive Committee member of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association and chairman of the Association's Unit Trust Sub-committee.

Ka Shi Lau

Ka Shi Lau is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Consortium Trust Company Limited ("BCT"), one of the top five MPF trustees in Hong Kong. Prior to joining BCT, Ka Shi was Vice President (Marketing & Research) of the then newly incorporated Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation ("HKMC") since July 1997. Graduated from Cornell University, USA, with a master's degree in Business Administration, Ka Shi possesses extensive banking and finance experience which includes working as Assistant General Manager & Head of Private Banking at ABN AMRO Bank, Chief of Staff to the first Chairman of Securities & Futures Commission, and serving as executives of Citibank and several major international banks in both Hong Kong and New York City in investment banking; project finance; global investment, trust and custody services; risk management and compliance; banking and securities operations for many years.

Apart from her current role as Chairman of the Hong Kong Retirement Schemes Association, she also serves on the Guidelines Committee at the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, Securities and Futures Commission, Community Investment and Inclusion Fund ("CIIF"), Hospital Authority and the Women's Commission. Ka Shi received a Director of the Year Award 2008 from the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, making history as the first woman to have won in the "Private Companies, Executive Director" category. She was also named as one of the Most Extraordinary Women in Finance 2009 by Benchmark magazine and consultancy HBC Limited.

Diana Mackay

Diana is a recognised expert on mutual fund market developments having initiated the first authoritative research on the European markets in 1990. This research now includes a number of projects designed to aid fund management groups develop their strategies for gathering assets not just in Europe's diverse markets but now on a global basis.

Principal amongst these projects is SalesWatchOnline - a confidential benchmarking service used by leading cross-border fund groups to track their progress in foreign markets, FundFile a database tracking the assets, sales and corporate histories of Europe and Asia's 50,000+ mutual funds, and numerous reports that interpret and forecast industry developments.

With more than 20 years' experience of monitoring the development of fund markets Diana has been called as an expert witness to the European Parliament's deliberations on the impact of Ucits and more recently was a member of the European Commission's Asset Management Working Group deliberations on the development of Ucits. She has participated in a number of industry Think Tanks, the most recent of which addressed the industry's response to the current financial crisis and made proposals for the development of a long-term savings culture in Europe.

She is a recognised press commentator on industry trends, a regular leading speaker at Fund Forum, company board meetings and other industry events.

Mr McShane has been an Executive Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority for over 6 years. He heads the Regulation and Policy Division, which is responsible for investment regulation, policy development, research and legal services. Prior to his time at the MPFA, he held various senior roles with the Australian Securities Investment Commission (ASIC) and before that he also worked with the Investment Management Regulatory Organisation Ltd. (IMRO), the former fund management regulator in the United Kingdom. Prior to his regulatory roles he practised as a Barrister in Australia.

Desmond Ng

Desmond Ng joined Invesco in September 2006 as Head of Institutional Business for Asia ex-Japan. In November 2008, he became Chief Operating Officer, Head of Sales and Marketing, Asia ex-Japan, responsible for institutional and retail client activities throughout the region. In addition, drawing on his extensive experience across various business aspects in the Asia ex-Japan region, Mr Ng builds and overseas a common service platform for the region, including marketing, product development and client service activities. Mr Ng was previously with JF Asset Management Hong Kong, where he held various senior positions in institutional marketing, product and business development.

Mr Ng has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from Clark University, Massachusetts, USA. He served as vice-chairman of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association for 2008/2009 and was appointed Chairman of the Association for the year 2009/2010.

Miss Ng has been in the media industry for 15 years. She began her journalist career as a political and general news reporter, covering housing, human rights and politics in the 1990s. In year 2000, she joined Mingpao, one of Hong Kong's leading newspapers, as finance journalist and subsequently was promoted to be the News Editor for Investment Section. In 2006, she was awarded a Chevening Scholarship for a 6-month study in the University of Oxford. She finished it with a paper on "China's overseas oilfield acquisition strategy and its implication". In 2008, Ms Ng moved to Mingpao.com as Head of Finance portal before she resigned in August 2009.

Terry Pan

Terry Pan, Managing Director, is Head of the Retail Business for J.P. Morgan Asset Management in Hong Kong and Macau. Before taking up his current position in 2006, he spent three years as head of Intermediary Sales, responsible for the distribution of the firm's pooled products via a wide distribution network of retail and private banks, insurance companies and IFAs in Hong Kong and Macau. He first joined the firm in 1994, left for two years, and rejoined in 2003. In 2001 Mr Pan joined Hutchison CSFB direct as sales director and was appointed executive director - sales following Bank of China International's acquisition of the firm. Prior to that he spent seven years with Jardine Fleming, working in several areas, including sales, investment services and project management, before transferring to the firm's then joint venture with PCCW, 2cube Securities, in 2000 where he was vice president - sales. Mr Pan obtained a BA in finance and real estate from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas and an MBA from Royal Holloway, University of London. He is also a holder of the CFA designation.

Arthur Shek

Mr Shek is a founder of the Hong Kong Economic Times (HKET) and is an Executive Director of HKET Holdings Ltd. He now holds the positions of Associate Publisher and Head of Research in HKET. He superintends the section of School Page of HKET, and ET Press, a book publishing unit. He is a popular guru in economic analysis. He writes a column in HKET, the Group's financial weekly namely iMoney, and in www.etnet.com.hk. His writing is easy to understand and filled with real life cases. This facilitates positioning of the newspaper to be one for all investors instead of just for trade. Mr Shek is a popular columnist, writer, speaker and host in radio programme. He has written & edited a number of books on investment. He gives an average of over 30 speeches a year. He hosts a programme on investment every Saturday morning in Radio Hong Kong.

Before joining the Group, Mr Shek has gained experience in various trade & industries ranging from electronic watch manufacturing to exhibition service.

Mr Shek graduated from University of Hong Kong in 1972.

Raymond So

The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Professor Raymond W. So is an Associate Professor of Finance and Director of the Master of Science Programme in Finance at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include corporate governance, e-finance, international finance, global financial markets, and investment. The findings of his research have been presented at international academic conferences and published in reputable internationally refereed journals. Dr So is also the author of six books.

Apart from his academic endeavors, Dr So was also a member of the Examination Panel of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and an Examiner of the Hong Kong Securities Institute. Dr So also served as a consultant to the Financial Services and Treasury Bureau of the Hong Kong Government on corporate governance.

His business views have been publicized in leading international mass media including the TVB, the Strait Times, Reuters, Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal.

Besides teaching and conducting research in the University, Professor So contributes to the society through his professional expertise. His current positions in public services include:

Daisy Ho is Director and Head of Relationship Management, Institutional Business of Fidelity in Hong Kong. She is responsible for leading and managing a team of relationship management staff in maintaining and enhancing the existing relationship for the Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and segregated clients.

Ms Ho joined Fidelity in 2005 to head the Account Management team in Institutional Client Services Department - responsible for new business development and day-to-day servicing of institutional clients in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Fidelity, Ms Ho headed various product development teams in banks and an insurance company, responsible for developing investment and wealth management products. She has worked at AXA Insurance as Assistant General Manager - Wealth Management and Hang Seng Bank as Senior Product Manager. Ms Ho began her career at JPMorgan Chase Private Bank.
