Dr. Bai graduated from Beijing University with a PHD degree in 1990. He has made research in the Department of Mathematics as a post doctor in Beijing University between 1990 and 1992. Dr. Bai has worked in Institute of Computing Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences in different positions including Assistant Research fellow, research fellow, PHD student instructor, Director of research department, Chief Scientist of software. Between 2000 and 2002, he worked in Ministry of Information Industry, participated in building CNCERT/CC. Since 2002, Dr. Bai worked in Shanghai Stock Exchange as Chief Engineer, Assistant to General Manager, Director of Technology Center, and led the major projects of the new transaction system and data warehouse. In 2003, he worked as the Vice Chairman of IT Committee of Securities Association of China and Vice Chairman of Securities Sub-committee of National Financial Standardization Committee.

 

Dean Chisholm is responsible for a wide range of Operations functions in the Asia Pacific region at Invesco. Invesco is a listed independent investment group, not related to any bank, trustee, custodian, insurance company or other financial institution. In Asia Pacific Invesco have fund management operations in Hong Kong, Melbourne, Taipei, Tokyo, Singapore and a joint venture in the PRC, manufacturing and distributing investment funds and other fund management products plus an Enterprise Centre in Hyderabad. Between 1995 and 1998, he was responsible for the regional Operations functions of LGT Asset Management before the acquisition by Invesco. From 1984 to 1993, he worked for PWC audit division in London and Hong Kong serving financial services clients. He is a past Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities Industry Group and currently Co-chairman of the OMGEO Hong Kong Advisory Board, a member of the SWIFT Funds Advisory Group and Asian Funds Automation Consortium. Mr. Chisholm has a Bachelor of Science in Monetary Economics from the London School of Economics. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and is an Associate of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants.
 
  

Alan is responsible for developing the global cross asset FIX connectivity value proposition for HSBC. His team provide development and maintenance of the FIX environment and Customer on-boarding including Customer Support services, enabling them to trade Equities, Futures or FX online across the FIX gateways in the US, Europe and Asia.

Alan spent 20 years in Information Technology in the Markets arena, before transferring into the Business area in 2007. Prior to joining HSBC in 2005, Alan was the Chief Technology Officer of E-Crossnet, His experience includes creating an online multi-broker trading environment that enabled straight through processing for Customers orders / executions and FIX enabling the Buy-side Equities Matching environment for E-Crossnet.

Fang Han Lin is the Vice President of Hundsun Technologies Inc., a premier financial IT solutions provider in China. The firm is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and employs over 1800 professionals.

Mr. Fang started his career at Hundsun in 1997, beginning as a software engineer, and subsequently served in a number of different posts, including R&D, team management, sales and marketing as well as business development.

A veteran in financial IT, he has witnessed the growth of China's financial services industry from its inception in the '90s. With his experience and insight, he continues to be instrumental in the development of the financial IT industry as head of the Investment Management Solutions division, which serves the technological needs of buy-side institutions. He also provides oversight to the Securities solutions and marketing division.

Mr. Fang holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering & Instruments from Zhejiang University and an EMBA from the China-Europe International Business School.

 

Andrew Joined RBS in September of 2008 from JPMorgan where he spent 6 years working in Europe and Asia on their Electronic trading platforms and trading research products. Prior to this Andrew spent 5 years at Dresdner in Quantitative and Execution Research. Andrew also sits on the DJ STOXX advisory committee. His key focus at RBS will be to deliver the strategic electronic execution platform over the next 5 years while growing the Execution Services franchise in Asia.

Jack He joined BNY Mellon Western Fund Management Co. Ltd. in Shanghai in April 2009 as head of Information Technology. Previously Jack has worked in the U.S. for PA Consulting, Johnson & Johnson, Maples Securities and Hess Energy Trading in a variety of IT-related roles, ranging from software development, IT consulting, IT architecture design and risk management technologies. His areas of expertise include Geographic Information Systems, System Dynamics, database design and risk/trading infrastructure. Jack received his undergraduate degree from Beijing Univ. and his master’s degree from M.I.T.

  

Grace Lin is in charge of the electronic trading business for Asian markets in the Equities Division of Citigroup. Ms. Lin has worked in Franklin Templeton Investments in the U.S., UBS and Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong prior to joining Citigroup in 2003. Ms. Lin has been one of the pioneers of FIX in Asia Pacific promoting the protocol as well as electronic trading since 1999.

Mark Maloney is a Director in Deutsche Securities' Autobahn Equity Sales team based in Hong Kong. He relocated from Tokyo earlier this year, where he headed up the Portfolio Trading and Autobahn electronic sales teams for Deutsche in Tokyo for three years. Previous to Deutsche, Mark headed equity execution teams for Merrill Lynch New York and Tokyo, as well as for Alliance Bernstein New York.

 

Mr. Edward Mangles is the founder and Publisher of FIXGlobal, the official publication of the FIX Protocol. He has a long history within the financial technology sector and has worked closely with FPL for a number of years.  He has supported the organisation’s Asia Pacific committee for the past 7 years, playing a key role in promoting FIX adoption across the region. He has also worked for leading financial publishing and marketing firms in both London and Hong Kong. In March 09 Mr. Edward Mangles was appointed FPL Asia Pacific Regional Director.
 
 

Oliver T. K. Ng is the Executive Director and Responsible Officer of BOCI Securities Limited. As Head of Financial Institutions Partnerships Department, Oliver leads a team of professionals that promote BOCI’s capabilities in electronic trading of equities and futures to local and overseas financial institutions that include: Banks, Broker Dealers, Proprietary Desks and Asset Management Companies. Oliver’s primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth and enhance profitability by promoting BOCI’s strength in Direct Market Access (“DMA”), Global Portfolio and Algorithmic Trading. In addition, Oliver's role requires him to provide solutions and introduce best practices on securities trading for start-up brokerage firms plus well established financial institutions that are seeking to expand their product offerings in equities and futures through electronic channel.

Prior to his current position, Oliver has held senior positions on developing on-line trading business for retail investors and share incentive plan management services for Hong Kong and US Listed Companies.

Oliver takes an instrumental role to promote an efficient and quality trading environment via electronic channel for securities in the Listed market as well as on other alternative trading venues. In 2009, he was elected Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Association of On-line Brokers.

 

Hongjie joined Goldman Sachs in 1998, transferred to Beijing Gao Hua in 2007. He manages the China Electronic Trading business of Gao Hua, which covers DMA, Internet, and Algorithmic trading services for clients. Prior to Gao Hua, Hongjie had worked in Assets Management, Legal, and Risk Management divisions in Goldman Sachs New York. Hongjie has many years of IT background, he holds a BS degree in Physics and a MS degree in Computer Science.
 

Tao is responsible for sales and marketing efforts to the institutional clients, including QFII. He also oversees the Program Trading and Algorithmic Execution services for Guosen brokerage business, where he developed and maintained a pioneering project on building Guosen's capabilities in computerized trading adopting advanced tools and methods currently used in international financial markets such as FIX. Prior to joining Guosen, Tao has assumed different management roles in Beijing Yanhua Hi-Tech Co., Ltd, Haitong Securities Co., Ltd, and China International Futures Co., Ltd.

Tao holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Reading. Tao is a CFA charter holder and a member of HKSFA.
  
 

Rico Tang is Head of Transaction Business, Asia with responsibility for growth strategy on exchange traded markets through the launch of new products, strategic alliance and M&A to accommodate Thomson Reuters’s growth strategy.

Prior to joining Reuters in 2000, he served in a number of sales and marketing roles, including global transaction and information services since joined Reuters at 2000. His excellence in strategy formulation and implementation led to the strategic partnership with Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Ltd (HKEx) by integrating Reuters Equities Transaction Network with Order Routing System (ORS) designed by HKEx to connect international institutional investors to the Hong Kong liquidity pool.

Before joining Reuters, he spent more than 10 years in securities trading and settlement, market research and derivative products development in Hong Kong and China. Between 1997 and 2000, he worked for Hong Kong Futures Exchange and was involved in new product launch such as mini- Hang Seng Index futures, MSCI China Index futures, One-month HIBOR futures, China Red-Chips Index Futures, and Bond Futures

Rebecca Thomas is part of the Direct Execution team at UBS, based in Hong Kong covering Sales and Marketing. She has been with UBS since 1997, despite taking a short industry break between 2004-2006, holding a number of roles within the Equities dept based in London, Stamford (US) and in Hong Kong (since 2001). Rebecca was also the Asia FPL chair for Education & Marketing from 2002-2004.

 

Gavin Williamson joined HSBC in May 2005, initially working in London and then relocating to Hong Kong to Head up HSBC's Execution Trading division, joining from Deutsche Bank in London where he worked as the Global Head of Institutional Execution services.

Prior to that he was Director and Head of Equity Electronic Trading with Salomon Smith Barney based in Hong Kong and Co-Chair of the Asia Pac regional FIX committee.

 

Mr. Yip is the Head of Cash Market of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) responsible for managing the business and market infrastructure for equity trading and cash market products such as derivative warrants, callable bull/bear contracts, exchange traded funds and debt securities.

Mr. Yip is currently a Member of the Securities Compensation Fund Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission, a Member of the Environment and Conservation Fund Investment Committee, a Member of the Banking and Finance Industry Training Board of the Vocational Training Council, a Member of the Professional Education Committee of the Hong Kong Securities Institute as well as a Board Member of the Community Chest of Hong Kong and the Vice Chairman of its Admission, Budgets and Allocations Committee.

Before joining HKEx in 2003, Mr. Yip worked for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and McKinsey & Company in Hong Kong and the United States respectively. He received a PhD in economics from Harvard University.

Kathryn Zhao is a Vice President in Deutsche Securities' Algorithmic Trading team based in Hong Kong. Kathryn joined Deutsche Bank in 2004 as a program trader. Since 2006 Kathryn has been leading the algorithmic trading strategy development for Asia ex-Japan. Previous to Deutsche Bank, Kathryn worked as a quantitative equity analyst for a hedge fund in the US.
