Ashish is the Deputy CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the oldest stock exchange in Asia. Ashish also serves as a Board member on United Stock Exchange (USE) and Indian Clearing Corporation Limited (ICCL) in addition to serving as a member/trustee on several committees and trusts.

Ashish worked as the President and Group CIO at Reliance, the largest private sector business house in India with turnover in excess of US $ 35 billion from 2000 to 2009. In his role as a Group CIO, he was in charge of IT Applications framework for Reliance group and has been given many outstanding awards from the industry.

Ashish is known as one of the five founders of India’s largest automated exchange: the National Stock Exchange (NSE), which is considered to be amongst the top three markets in the world ranked by number of trades per day and the largest single stock futures market in the world. The satellite communication network he set up for NSE has acted as a technology demonstrator for many other companies in India. He is considered as the pioneer who brought the ‘commercial satellite telecom’ to India and the father of ‘modern exchange traded financial derivatives’ markets in India.

Earlier, from 1991-93, he worked as an Industrial Finance Officer in the Project Finance Department of Industrial Development Bank of India.

He holds a B.Tech. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM). He has delivered guest lectures to students at various business schools. He and his writings have been widely quoted in magazines, academic journals and trade journals in India and abroad.

Siddharth Chhabria is part of the Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET) team, currently based out of Singapore covering sales and marketing. He has been with Goldman Sachs since 2007 and was previously a sales team leader for Bloomberg L.P. in India(2002-2007). Prior to Bloomberg, Siddharth has been a broker in the fixed income markets with various firms.

Mr. Toby Corballis is the Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Addition Limited, a producer of innovative FIX, and related, products from ultra-low-latency engines to productivity tools and lightweight trading front ends. Mr. Corballis has over twenty years of experience within the IT and Capital Markets. Originally starting out as a Developer, Mr. Corballis has also worked as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, Entrepreneur, and Business Leader. Over the course of his career, Mr. Corballis has worked for large multinational firms such as Natwest, Barclays, Lloyds, CSC Computer Sciences, Ernst & Young, and AIG. Mr. Corballis has also worked as an adviser to the UK Government and has been instrumental in Rapid Addition’s success in going from a niche firm based in the UK to a provider of FIX technology globally.

Dave is currently responsible for deploying the advanced liquidity management platform at Daiwa. Previously he was head program sales trader at Citi Global Markets Japan where he also led trading algorithm development. Prior to Citi, he performed various roles at Morgan Stanley Japan from agency and principal program trading, co-running the single-name option book, and building the delta-one derivatives business. He has a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley.

Ronald Gould is Chief Executive of Chi-X Asia-Pacific. Chi-X Global and its affiliates, Chi-X Europe and Chi-X Canada are the market leading innovators in the creation of new market trading facilities for investors. Prior to joining Chi-X, Mr. Gould was Senior Advisor to the UK Financial Services Authority. He is former Chief Executive Officer/founder of ABG Sundal Collier ASA (“ABGSC”), a listed specialist investment bank with activities in investment research, securities trading, corporate finance and asset management.

Prior to ABGSC, Mr. Gould was Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director of AXA Investment Managers, the AXA Group holding company for investment management activities. He was previously Vice Chairman of Barclays/BZW asset management business, responsible for the group’s extensive international expansion including the acquisition of BGI.

Mr. Gould’s career in the investment business includes research, portfolio management, institutional and mutual fund business development. He was the founder of one of the first international investment groups in the US, one of the first foreign owned Trust Banks in Japan and successful investment management companies in Asia, Japan, the UK and continental Europe.

Mr. Gould is an economics graduate of Washington University. Married with two children, he is an avid sailor, an undistinguished skier and an active consumer of Japanese history.

Anshuman Jaswal is a senior analyst in Celent's Securities and Investments group and is based in the India office. Before joining Celent, Mr. Jaswal had varied work experience in corporate banking (erstwhile UTI Bank), research and consulting (AC Nielsen ORG-Marg) and insurance (ICICI Prudential Life Insurance). He has also been a founding partner in an education-based business. His expertise lies in electronic bond trading, market infrastructure, trade execution quality, derivatives, market regulation, brokerages, hedge funds and commodity markets.

He is fluent in English and Hindi, has studied Spanish at the intermediate level, and French and German at the basic level. He has authored a book on commodity markets and is a visiting professor for Economics and Finance at IIM Indore, a leading Indian B-school.

A qualified Six Sigma-Green Belt holder, an MBA in Marketing & Finance and a computer professional, she has been one of the key professionals to conceptualise and implement models for creating healthier practices pertaining to compliance during her vast career spanning 15 years.

She has, thus, handled various crucial projects related to Surveillance, Investigations, Market Operations for Equity Derivatives, Listing and Broker Inspections, apart from improvising on product specifications in the aforementioned segments of equity markets.

Prior to MCX-SX, she was the head of Equity Compliance at Lehman Brothers, where her key responsibilities comprised of supervising equity compliance related to regulatory mandates, surveillance of trading activities, prevention of money laundering activities and lending guidance on new products.

Mr. Edward Mangles is the founder and Publisher of FIXGlobal, the official publication of the FIX Protocol. He has a long history within the financial technology sector and has worked closely with FPL for a number of years. He has supported the organisation’s Asia Pacific committee for the past 8 years, playing a key role in promoting FIX adoption across the region. He has also worked for leading financial publishing and marketing firms in both London and Hong Kong. In March 09 Mr. Edward Mangles was appointed FPL Asia Pacific Regional Director.

PS Praveen, known as Praveen, is Country Manager for India for TNS and is based in the city of Chennai, India.

He joined the company in 2006, taking on responsibility the development of TNS’ business throughout India, overseeing the expansion of its networks, operations and sales activities. Praveen has played a key part in establishing TNS’ financial services division business across the Asia Pacific region, boosting the number of buy and sell side institutions, market data and software vendors and exchanges, that are connected to TNS’ extensive community of interest.

James Rae is a Credit Suisse Director and Head of AES Sales for Southeast Asia, located in Singapore. James has been with Credit Suisse for 5 years. Previous to joining Credit Suisse he spent 8 years with Instinet in Japan and the U.S.. James moved to Singapore in early 2008 to assist in the further development of the AES product in the Asian region.

Based in Chennai as a buy side trader covering cash and derivatives for Indian markets. Total industry experience of 7 years with 4 years in Kotak Securities prior to joining Sundaram BNP Paribas in 2007.

Mr. Lamon Rutten is Managing Director & CEO of MCX. A world-renowned authority on commodity markets, Mr. Rutten’s main area of focus at MCX is to drive the development of the entire commodities market value chain in India. Previously, Mr. Rutten was a part of the MCX team as Joint Managing Director.

Mr. Rutten has served as Chief of Finance, Risk Management, and Information in the Commodities Branch of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Geneva. After working on grain trade and collateralized grain finance in Mali, he joined UNCTAD in 1990. In UNCTAD, he was responsible for developing the organization’s work on commodity price risk management and structured finance. Since then, he has been doing extensive work in the areas of commodity policies, commodity market reforms, institutional developments (for the private and public sectors), upgrading the skills of the financial sector, and regulations affecting the commodity and financial sectors. He has published more than 40 papers on these issues and numerous articles, has spoken at well over a 100 seminars, and has conceptualized and organized many high-level conferences. He has been associated with UNCTAD till June 2006, excluding a period in 2000 - 2001 when he worked as a senior advisor with the International Task Force on Commodity Price Risk Management of the World Bank and January - April 2002 when he consulted to the Common Fund for Commodities. He is on the Board or Advisory Board of several companies in the United States, Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Mr. Rutten holds a postgraduate degree with honors in international economic management from Tilburg University, the Netherlands.

Matt is responsible for trading Australian equities, as well as managing six other equity traders on the Asia-ex Japan desk, based in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Fidelity eight years ago, Matt spent five years at Citi in Melbourne, first on the sell side, then joining the buy side as an equity dealer.

Jim joined the BSE in September 2009 with responsibility for market development, institutional sales and the exchanges international relationships. He is a member of the exchange’s management committee.

Before joining the BSE, Jim was Senior Managing Director of Galileo Global Advisors, a New York boutique investment bank, and CEO of Galileo Global Securities. Prior to joining Galileo, Jim worked for 16 years at the New York Stock Exchange in various senior management positions in research, strategic planning and international business development. He holds a B.A. from Harvard College and M.A. and M. Phil. degrees in economics from Yale University.

Mr. Vidhu Shekhar is Vice President, New Products for the National Stock Exchange of India. In this role, he is responsible for leading new initiatives for the exchange. Prior to joining the National Stock Exchange, Mr. Shekhar worked with IDBI Capital Markets as Senior Vice President and ETrade Systems India Limited as Managing Director.

Mr. Shekhar completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IIM Ahmedabad in 1987 and has worked in various organizations in India and abroad. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute, USA. His interests include technology, public finance, capital market infrastructure, corporate governance and investor education.

Rajashree Thandy heads the Global Capital Markets QA Practice in Capgemini. In her role she is responsible for devising testing strategies for various trading systems specifically Order management and Order Routing systems on the Equity platforms and building QA solutions for various clients. She is also involved in strategic marketing, business development, project delivery and also provide subject matter expertise specifically in the Trading systems space. She has abundant experience through the span of her career in the areas of new business development, scoping, transition and account management in the quality assurance space working with leading IT organizations, predominantly servicing Financial Service Institutions. She has also executed many projects in Fixed Income derivatives, Foreign Exchange Trading Applications and Risk Management applications.

Rajashree has been the chief designer for a ready to use, cost effective test accelerator solution that helps ensure quality for FIX implementations. It is one stop solution which includes requirements, business models and test scripts to fast track testing of large scale FIX implementation.

Peter Tierney is the regional MD of NYSE Technologies responsible for Asia. NYSE Technologies is a division of NYSE Euronext.

Prior to joining NYSE Euronext, Mr. Tierney held various senior management positions at TransactTools, BT Radianz, Omgeo and Thomson Financial with extended postings in major financial centers in Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and the US.

Mr. Tierney’s previous roles cover strategic business development, sales and operational management, marketing and product development across front, middle and back office applications in the financial services space.

Based in Singapore, Mr. Tierney coordinates the customer facing activities (sales, presales, delivery and support) across the region through teams in Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Peter is originally from Ireland and graduated university with a bachelors in engineering, specializing in electronics and computer science. He is married with 2 children - Liam (9) and Declan (7).
