The financial sector is in the midst of unprecedented they do business as well as how it is governed. Given the scale and scope of changes, financial institutions must respond to the new standards accordingly. With the growth prospects in traditional areas of banking are limited in the long run; banks must acquire a new mindset to win and have to quickly identify the budding opportunities within the sector.

This flagship conference is specially designed to cater to banking professionals in Hong Kong and will cover the issues that are closely related to the local banking community. This year’s “Hong Kong: New Role, New Growth” theme reflects the need for the banking industry in Hong Kong to reposition itself, given the major shifts in the industry landscape after the financial crisis. Hong Kong must identify new areas of growth in order to remain competitive. In particular the conference will examine the ever growing influence of China’s economic growth, policy-driven initiatives and the maturing mainland banking sector. At the conference, the opportunities that China offers to Hong Kong banks will be explored, together with the challenges.

This one day event in the format of presentations, panel discussions, lively debates between experts, case studies and networking luncheon will provide insights into the future of the Hong Kong’s banking industry. The event will have a common general session in the morning and specialized streams in the afternoon. The dynamic group of leading speakers and panelists, from the different perspectives of bankers, regulators, industry consultants etc. will have an in-depth discussion to flesh out the latest issues and highlight how the industry can gear up for the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities provided.
